When heaven opens up, it's hell down here

Until seven years ago, when many residents of Alwarpet had to buy water from tanker lorries, they looked forward to rains so that groundwater could be recharged. Today they hate the very sight, sound and the smell of rain because it leaves water stagnating in the interior roads for days.
